Cuba Libre Clarke Quay celebrates 12th anniversary with new menu and relaunched concept

SINGAPORE, 12 December 2018 – Cuba Libre Café and Bar at Clarke Quay turns 12 today and the party doesn’t stop.

The energetic restaurant and nightspot, well regarded within Singapore’s Latin American community as the happening place for all things Latino, will be celebrating with a new menu and a relaunched concept paying tribute to the Cuba Libre old-timers love and remember fondly.

Regulars can expect a throwback to the good old days of the mid-2000s as the café and bar’s look and feel have been restored to how it was 12 years ago. The interior of the new and relaunched Cuba Libre is designed to keep the party going with its vibrant energy and electrifying ambience.

Those familiar with the brand can take a trip down memory lane with Cuba Libre’s authentic Latin American dishes, exotic cocktails, as well as live music from Adrenalina, Cuba Libre’s resident band.

The revamped Cuba Libre Clarke Quay will offer a brand-new menu beyond bar food and snacks. It will serve nutritious and hearty contemporary Latin American fare with influences from the surrounding countries like Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Costa Rica, Portugal and Spain. The menu is similar to that of its sister outlet at Frasers Towers, which opened in September this year.

Diners can try Cuba Libre’s signature Latin American dishes such as seabass ceviche, marinated seabass in lime and herbs, nuts and tortilla ($13); crab spring rolls ($12); shrimp skewers served with Creole sauce ($10); Cuban sandwich, made with Cuban bread, roasted pork, smoked ham, bacon, gherkins, mozzarella cheese and served with fries ($16); mojito chicken, a dish of braised boneless chicken thigh cooked in tangy rum reduction and served with mango salsa, herbs, tomatoes and roasted potatoes ($20); Ropa Vieja, a dish of shredded flank steak and vegetables in tomato sauce ($20); and paella with a choice of seafood, chicken, pork or chorizo ($21).

The dishes are infused with nutritious herbs and spices and a healthier option compared with traditional Cuban food which is usually high in fat, sugar and salt content.

Puneet Agarwal, CEO and Director, said: “Over the last 12 years, Cuba Libre has grown into a leading bar in Singapore known for its Latin music and parties and we would like to thank all customers and regulars who have been supporting the brand since day one.

“However, we recognise that patrons of Cuba Libre have grown up over the years and we want to grow up with them as well. With the new relaunch, we hope to rejuvenate the brand with a new menu of healthier and hearty Latin American dishes, as well as a revamped concept which should be familiar to those who grew up alongside Cuba Libre.”

Diners will be delighted to know that Cuba Libre will continue to serve a wide selection of rum-based cocktails, tequilas and more. Mojito fans can continue to enjoy the same extensive selection of mojitos which the restaurant is known for, with 20 types available.
